I spent my youth observing the stark and dramatic nature of the desert and Sierra foothills in Minden, Nevada.
The move to California brought the Northern Pacific Coastline...and a BA at Humboldt State University in Arcata.
After years of painting and working as a pastry chef, I completed my MFA at Mills College in Oakland.
Currently, my practice includes shifts between painting/drawing that depict abstract and imagined energetic forces and pieces rooted in social practice that seek to honor the physical world of personal interactivity.
My work also includes a position as Adjunct Professor, Fine Art, California College of the Arts and several evolving illustration projects.
